Perfect rice all the time.
I have only used short grain Calrose rice, and not the long grain,
but believe it will turn out the same.

Rinse rice and add your water.
Make sure you have a secure cover for your pot.
Cook the rice and AS SOON As it starts to boil/steam,
TURN OFF the stove, count 7 seconds, then TURN THE BURNER ON HIGH, count to 10 seconds,
then TURN THE BURNER OFF COMPLETELY.
Leave the rice in the pot for at least 20 minutes,
DO NOT TAKE THE COVER OFF AT ANY TIME.
After 20 minutes the rice is so perfect.

(Aunty Maebelle heard this method on a TV cooking show)\
I was so skeptical until I tried it. I usually cook my rice in a rice cooker, but since I hardly eat white rice, and only cook 1 cup a day for my husband, Greg (we have 1 special pot just for rice)
I tried the above method. It worked... Try it!!
