Moe
Keale performed at Whittier College in
Whittier California on three
occasions.
At the end of each concert Moe told all of us the
"Meaning of Aloha."
=
Moe said that Pilahi Paki, a teacher of Hawaiian culture and
essence said,
"...in the next millennium the world would turn to
Hawaii as they search for world peace because Hawaii has the key ...
and
that key is ALOHA!"

THE FAMOUS KODAK
HULA SHOW CLOSED IN SEPTEMBER 2002 |

WAIKIKI
HULA SHOW CLOSES AFTER A 65-YEAR RUN
What will always be known as the "Kodak
Hula Show" closed in September, 2002.
The show began in 1938 and over the next 6.5 decades, it entertained the
world.
In 1999 Eastman Kodak pulled its sponsorship but the show was saved
by
Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays. The PHH foundation couldn't keep the
program going and couldn't find a new sponsor. The host for the
final program, May Akeo Brown, had been
doing the show since 1938. The Honolulu Star
Bulletin quoted the 74-year-young Brown as saying, "This
time it's for sure, and I'm ready for it." |
